Today is International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation. Female genital mutilation (FGM) comprises all procedures that involve partial or total removal of the external female genitalia, or other injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons, and is recognized internationally as a violation of the human rights of girls and women.

At Radio Cape Mount in Liberia, youth reporters debated the issue of female genital mutilation and challenged commonly held opinions on the roles of girls in society. Our CRF Lead Trainer Lesedi Mogoatlhe shares their experience of how the community reacted to the youth reporters views.
