We use radio to amplify youth voices across Africa, giving them the skills and tools to speak about their lives
This photo is a bit dated but we wanted to share it as it captures the great work the youth reporters continue to do in Liberia.
The station is located in a very rural part of the country so the youth reporters travel on motorbike to cover the community and do interviews. Their weekly show called “Kids Wave” has brought many important local issues to light. As Emmanuel, 13 years old explains, “In this community, we are the only radio station talking to parents about the rights of children. People in the community say the government has made us children to be very rude, arrogant. But our rights belong to us not to them. I take it as a challenge because I believe that some parents will eventually understand.”
