We use radio to amplify youth voices across Africa, giving them the skills and tools to speak about their lives
The youth reporters from the 12 sites in South Africa took up the challenge set by UNICEF and the Unilever Foundation to produce radio inserts related to hygiene practices as part of their weekly community radio broadcasts, ahead of Global Handwashing Day on 15 October.
The community radio station and young reporters who scooped first prize for the ‘Best Radio Package’ was announced today! Drum roll please… And the winner was Teen Express, the youth reporters at Radio Atlantis in Cape Town. The youth reporters of Kurara FM’s Cracking It in Kuruman won the category ‘Best Public Service Announcement on Handwashing’.
