Through radio broadcasts, young people speak about their concerns and reach out to their peers and wider audiences about the issues they face.

The Children's Radio Foundation has been busy setting up youth radio project sites across the African continent. In Liberia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zambia, CRF trainers are working with local radio stations to implement sustainable, community-led initiatives. In August we began training youth at twelve radio stations across South Africa, working with UNICEF and the South African Department of Basic Education. It's been an amazing journey to meet so many talented young people, eager to use radio to express themselves and to ignite important conversations in their communities. What was even more remarkable was that for every challenge, there were youth talking about it, getting involved and doing something. Radio is a tool for young people to spread messages and make themselves heard. We found that it is also a way to tune into inspiration.
