We use radio to amplify youth voices across Africa, giving them the skills and tools to speak about their lives
Our Manenberg Youth Reporters were busy this past Saturday at the Manenberg Library in Cape Town, South Africa reporting on an event that celebrated the best of the community!
The library, usually a subdued space, came alive with music, storytelling, games, family photos and performances for the event themed ‘Manenberg is a beautiful place’. Manneberg is an area plagued with gangsterism, poverty and a high unemployment rate.
The purpose of Saturday’s event, was to highlight the beauty in Manenberg and the Manenberg Youth Reporters were there to capture the mood on the day with their recorders in hand. These youth reporters interviewed, amongst others, event organisers, performers and the community in attendance.
