On this, the re-launch of our CRF website and the launch of our blog, we want to give a shout out to our beloved CRF Global Ambassador Colin Greenwood of Radiohead. He took a tour of South Africa with our team in January to meet the talented young reporters we work with, take photographs and make some great radio.

Colin documented the adventure with a captivating blog, the post about Japhia Imuri being just one example of his enchanting travelogue. Japhia’s close knit family moved through five countries starting in Rwanda and landing in South Africa. He started working with CRF at 16 years old, telling his story through radio. Now studying Economics at the University of the Western Cape, Japhia sat down for a talk with Colin and CRF Producer Sam. He explained how he felt a burden lift in having the opportunity to tell his story through radio. Japhia also discussed his aspirations, those words being a compelling summary of what CRF does and an extraordinarily enlightening trip.

Visit Colin Radio Frequency to read the full blog and listen to a soundbite of Japhia’s words.
