As Cape Town prepared to becoming the first city in the world to run out of water, there has been a big focus on the supply, demand and management of water in the city. While Day Zero, the day when the water system is predicted to run dry, has been moved, the effects of the drought are far from over.

On World Water,  March 22nd, our water story produced by youth journalist Elethu Rotsho and BBC radio journalist Sophie Ribstein was featured on the BBC. “In my community, indeed people are more and more worried if all the taps run dry.” 17-year-old Elethu reports from Khayelitsha, South Africa about the extreme water crisis affecting Cape Town residents. Take a listen.
